You can apply for an Assembly Learning Grant for Further Education (ALGFE) of up to £1500 to help with the costs of studying. You may be eligible for ALG if:
If you have previously received ALG while studying on a course which was at the same level (or higher) you will not be eligible for ALG 2012/13. The table below shows how much you could get based on your household’s income and the number of hours you may be studying:

You will receive your first ALG payment when your campus confirms you have been in attendance for an agreed period of time. Coleg Gwent’s current attendance rule for ALG is 100% attendance for each term. To apply you will need to complete an ALG application available from Learner Services at your campus or at www.studentfinancewales.co.uk/ALG.
